recent! HSSEAS: Latest Phishing Scam

Friday, May 9, 2008 08:41:15 AM

Please be aware of a phishing scam that's been targeting your UCLA email accounts. The email has been seen in various forms: http://www.seas.ucla.edu/security/latest.htm. BOL has information about these scams here: http://www.bol.ucla.edu/alert/20080307.html.

BOL and SEASnet will NEVER ask you for your password in person, over the phone, or via e-mail. Nor should you ever send your password in your correspondence with the helpdesk.

BOL is requesting that if you did reply to any of these emails with your account information, please visit: https://logon.ucla.edu/passchange.php to immediately change your password.

CourseWeb: HSSEAS Undergraduates

Thursday, May 1, 2008 06:20:36 PM

SEASnet would like to hear from you regarding your SEASnet email account. We are considering no longer offering the email service that comes with undergraduate accounts (undergrads will be given an account to access SEASnet resources but there will be no email address to go along with it). This change would take place starting with new undergraduate accounts created in Fall 08. Those undergrads with accounts that have been activated prior to September 1, 2008 will not be affected. So, although we are asking you to complete a short survey that won't affect you, it will help SEASnet in determining what the affect will be on those students new to HSSEAS. The survey can be accessed by clicking here.

If you have information that you believe would be helpful to SEASnet, or if you have any questions or concerns about this change that SEASnet is considering, please email ugrad_email@seas.ucla.edu.
