CourseWeb Terms of Use/Privacy Policy
Data Retention Policy
Non-accreditation data in CourseWeb older than 6 years will be purged from the
system and will no longer be available in any format. Accreditation data in
CourseWeb older than 12 years will be purged from the system and will
no longer be available in any format.
Access to non-public contents in CourseWeb
In accord with the data retention policy above, instructors and TAs
can access their current and past class contents provided they
are still affiliated with HSSEAS, have a valid login account, and the
contents still exist. Students can access their current class contents
only.
Privacy Policy
UCLA complies with the
Federal Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), the
California Information Practices Act, and University of California
Policies Applying to the Disclosure of Information from Student Records.
All users that have access to any student information must adhere
to these policies and the guidelines for
Safeguarding Student Records.
There are CourseWeb features that make students' names and email
addresses (including students with a FERPA hold) visible to
authenticated users in the same class. This is fully consistent with
FERPA when applied to course management systems.
Copyright Policy
All users that post any content in CourseWeb must comply with the
UCLA copyright policy and
CCLE copyright policy.
Ownership of Course Materials Policy
All users with access to any course materials must comply with
UCOP Ownership of Course Materials Policy .
